Something puzzles me about the Dahllies (that is Delhi for those unfamiliar with Delhi's 'sophisticates' and their accent). And that is the following:
If Vasant Vihar is VV
If Defence Colony is DefCol
If Punjabi Bagh is PBags
If Kamala Nagar is KNags
If Greater Kailash is GK
Why is South Extension not SEx???

my answer is -
For the same reasons that prevent Indira Gandhi Airport from becoming in-G**d Airport.
ps .. does the sophisticates Delhi sound similar to the desi देहली or does it ring the firangi sound (similar to "Dahling") ??? both of them can be written as Dahli
reminds me of my Maths prof in IIT-
he used to go like -
SecA, SecB and SecantC.
